Abstract

|
Not uncommonly, cleft lip and palate is accompanied by secondary midfacial deformities. And then, cleft lip and palate deformities are often part of a multifaceted problem.
The treatment of patients with cleft lip and palate deformity by maxillary orthognathic surgery is complex and interdisciplinary. With proper planning, execution and follow up care, the maxilla can be surgically repositioned into stable relationship with the mandible.
Variable midfacial hypoplasia in 3 cases were corrected by total maxillary advancement with midline maxillary expansion and bone grafting and we obtained satisfactory results.
